Cleaning of condensation traps / filters, heatsinks

Condensate traps, filters, coolers, cyclones, trays, reflow ovens, wave and selective solder systems - all these components must be cleaned regularly and thoroughly to maximize productivity. This mainly includes the cleaning of condensate management modules specially built for the collection of condensation residues such as condensate filters and traps in the cooling and transition zones of reflow ovens, selective and shielding gas (nitrogen) wave soldering systems.

The atmosphere of a soldering system contains many substances that should not condense in the process chamber as they lead to reduction of diameters and thus to changes of air circulation parameters.

To separate these substances selectively, a part of the process atmosphere is continuously extracted and lead through separators and filters. Subsequently, the purified atmosphere is returned into the process. This complex system is referred to as a condensate management.

Condensation traps, condensation filters are key components of such a condensate management system. They extract condensable substances from the gas stream and provide a cleaned process gas for a clean process chamber and assure a stable process. Especially when using lead-free solder in nitrogen systems, this is of great importance.
